PANEL & PROTOCOL GUIDES

Manufacturer Knowledgebase

Field-oriented instructions for common UK fire alarm panels: one-man testing, disablements, cause & effect, logic and group controls.

Before changing a live system: agree the test/disablement with the responsible person, identify any ARC/fire-routing connection and plant interfaces, decide what must remain operational, record every temporary change, and restore/verify everything before leaving.

HOW TO USE THIS

Identify panel first, protocol second

Do not assume the detector brand tells you the panel workflow. Multi-protocol panels can use different loop cards or basecards. Confirm the exact panel family, loop protocol and firmware before following a menu path.

Major UK field systems

This build concentrates on widely encountered UK commercial systems and legacy families. It is deliberately written so more manufacturers can be added without changing the site architecture.
