Syncro AS / Taktis: practical field notes for testing, disablements, logic and restoration. Menu wording can vary by firmware and site configuration.
Before changing a live system: agree the test/disablement with the responsible person, identify any ARC/fire-routing connection and plant interfaces, decide what must remain operational, record every temporary change, and restore/verify everything before leaving.
KENTEC
Syncro AS / Taktis
Kentec Syncro-family panels provide clear user-level test-zone and disablement functions, while Loop Explorer is used for deeper cause/effect configuration.

One-man / walk test
- Enter the authorised menu and choose Test Zones.
- Select the zone and choose the required sounder behaviour for the test.
- Operate devices in the zone; the panel automatically returns from each brief test-fire event.
- Use View/Restore Zones in Test or the corresponding menu to remove every test condition.
Disable / enable
- Use Disablements to select the required zone, address/sub-address, sounders or panel output.
- Remember that a disabled input may still report certain faults depending on panel behaviour.
- Use View/Restore Disablements to review and individually clear all active disablements.
Cause & effect / groups
- Kentec cause/effect can combine inputs/zones using logical operators to operate outputs across the system/network.
- Loop Explorer provides support for actions, test mode and disablement programming.
- Treat any cause/effect that disables outputs as a safety-critical function and document its trigger and restoration path.
Engineer notes
- Use View Devices for device type, zone, location, analogue value and I/O state during diagnostics.
- Confirm the protocol-specific address limit for the installed loop.
- Older Syncro manuals and newer Taktis workflows are not identical; verify family and firmware.
