Nittan Engineer Guide

Evolution 1 / EVO+: practical field notes for testing, disablements, logic and restoration. Menu wording can vary by firmware and site configuration.

Before changing a live system: agree the test/disablement with the responsible person, identify any ARC/fire-routing connection and plant interfaces, decide what must remain operational, record every temporary change, and restore/verify everything before leaving.
NITTAN

Evolution 1 / EVO+

Nittan Evolution panels provide clear zone test modes and full cause/effect capability, with useful official technical guidance sheets for common configuration tasks.

Protocol / ecosystemEvolution FSK

One-man / walk test

  1. Enter an authorised user/engineer level and open the Zone menu.
  2. Set the required zone to Test for silent testing, or Test + Sound where the required test includes sounders.
  3. Operate the device; the panel auto-resets the test fire. On Evolution 1, Test + Sound operates alarm sounders for roughly 10 seconds.
  4. Return every test zone to normal and accept the change.

Disable / enable

  1. Use the zone/device disablement functions for maintenance scope.
  2. Avoid broad zone disablement where a single device can be safely isolated.
  3. Review all active test/disablement states and clear them before handover.

Cause & effect / groups

  1. Evolution 1 supports full cause/effect programming on the panel or via PC configuration tools.
  2. Nittan publishes guidance on default C&E, timed disablement and C&E hints/tips.
  3. Keep configuration revisions compatible with panel firmware, particularly on networks.

Engineer notes

  1. Evolution 1 supports up to 254 devices and 254 zones.
  2. Nittan publishes firmware/network compatibility notes; verify before adding/replacing network panels.
  3. Use clean-air/contamination guidance when assessing detector condition.
