Notifier Engineer Guide

Pearl / ID3000 / INSPIRE: practical field notes for testing, disablements, logic and restoration. Menu wording can vary by firmware and site configuration.

Before changing a live system: agree the test/disablement with the responsible person, identify any ARC/fire-routing connection and plant interfaces, decide what must remain operational, record every temporary change, and restore/verify everything before leaving.

Pearl / ID3000 / INSPIRE

Notifier families differ significantly. Pearl and ID3000 have well-established menu workflows; INSPIRE is the current connected platform and full engineering documentation is access-controlled through Notifier Knowledge.

Protocol / ecosystemOPAL; legacy CLIP support on applicable systems

One-man / walk test

  1. Pearl: enter authorised user level โ†’ Start/End Testing โ†’ Zones โ†’ select zone(s) for walk test.
  2. Pearl tracks devices in the test zone as NOT TESTED or TESTED; cancel each zone test explicitly.
  3. ID3000: User Menu โ†’ Test โ†’ Zone Walk Test; the TEST tab identifies the zone/device status.
  4. For INSPIRE, use the current authorised engineering documentation and training for the installed release.

Disable / enable

  1. Pearl: User Menu โ†’ Disable/Enable โ†’ Zones and Devices; select whole-zone or individual device scope.
  2. ID3000 provides separate disable/enable paths for zone inputs, outputs and individual devices.
  3. Review the DISABLE tab/indicator after changes and re-enable every temporary item.
  4. On networks, confirm whether the operation is local or remote-node specific.

Cause & effect / groups

  1. ID3000 uses control-matrix/virtual-point concepts; Pearl and INSPIRE use family-specific configuration tools.
  2. INSPIRE uses the OPAL digital protocol and supports legacy CLIP devices on applicable loop modules.
  3. Keep configuration revisions and never alter site logic without an approved cause/effect basis.

Engineer notes

  1. Pearl walk test is suitable for tracking progress through a zone.
  2. Do not assume an old ID3000 sequence applies to INSPIRE.
  3. Notifier Knowledge is the primary route for current INSPIRE commissioning manuals/tools.
