Morley-IAS Engineer Guide

Max / Plus / Lite; legacy DXc / ZX: practical field notes for testing, disablements, logic and restoration. Menu wording can vary by firmware and site configuration.

Before changing a live system: agree the test/disablement with the responsible person, identify any ARC/fire-routing connection and plant interfaces, decide what must remain operational, record every temporary change, and restore/verify everything before leaving.

One-man / walk test

  1. Legacy ZX: select Test β†’ Zones and choose the zone range for Walk Test.
  2. Operate devices and observe the panel’s walk-test indication; re-select/cancel the test when finished.
  3. On current Max/Plus/Lite systems, use the installed-family user/engineer documentation rather than assuming ZX key sequences.

Disable / enable

  1. Legacy ZX provides separate Enable and Disable menus for zones, input devices, outputs and delays.
  2. Choose the smallest scope and confirm whether loop-driven outputs still act from other causes.
  3. After enabling, inspect the event/disable list and ensure normal status.

Cause & effect / groups

  1. DXc includes input/output logic; current Morley families provide newer configuration workflows.
  2. Current Morley literature identifies multiple protocol/device options depending product family/market.
  3. Treat panel replacement/upgrade projects carefully because a familiar enclosure does not guarantee the same loop protocol or logic tool.

Engineer notes

  1. Honeywell now lists DXc as discontinued in product pages; expect substantial legacy installed base.
  2. Keep a copy of the installed configuration before changes.
  3. Use the exact manual for panel family and firmware, especially on networked systems.
